Gadda Prize (Edinburgh Journal of Gadda)

The Edinburgh Gadda Team is pleased to announce the first Edinburgh Gadda Prize, www.gaddaprize.ed.ac.uk.

 

The Prize, biennial and in four Categories, marks the decennial of the EJGS Edinburgh Journal of Gadda, www.gadda.ed.ac.uk.

 

Prize Categories:

1. The Crolla Amato Gadda Prize - Best Published Scholarly Work on Gadda

2. Gadda First - Best Early Career Scholarly Work on Gadda

3. Novecento in Saggio - Best Published Scholarly Work on 20thC Italian Fiction

4. Giallo Giovane - Best Junior Detective Fiction

 

Closing date: 31 March 2010

Award Ceremony: Caledonian Hall, Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh, 19 June 2010

 

Events include a two-day international conference, "City effects city defects" (Roxburghe Hotel, Charlotte Square, Edinburgh, 18-19 June 2010), and The Blackwell Gadda Workshop (Caledonian Hall, Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh, 19 June 2010).

 

Conference speakers include: Gian Mario Anselmi (Bologna); Corrado Bologna (Rome); Remo Ceserani (Bologna); Franco Farinelli (Bologna); Giorgio Ficara (Turin); Paola Italia (Siena); Niva Lorenzini (Bologna); Emilio Manzotti (Geneva); Clelia Martignoni (Pavia); Federica Pedriali (Edinburgh); Giorgio Pinotti (Adelphi Publishers); Massimo Riva (Brown); Jeffrey Schnapp (Stanford); Andrea Silvestri (Politecnico, Milan); Giuseppe Stellardi (Oxford); Riccardo Stracuzzi (Ferrara); Claudio Vela (Pavia).

 

The Blackwell Gadda Workshop (Category 4 finalists) will be conducted by NY-born film director and writer Annie Griffin, with prominent Scottish actors as guest participants. The event will be open to the general public.
