Queen Mary, University of London's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is embarking on the latest phase of strategic investment to recruit excellent researchers and teachers who can contribute to the achievement of its ambitious and exciting plans, and as part of this exercise the School intends to appoint a Lecturer in French.
All candidates should hold a PhD in French Studies, or equivalent, and ideally have appropriate experience of teaching at university level. Applications are welcomed from candidates specialising in any area of French or Francophone Studies, though preference may be given to candidates with expertise in the area of visual culture.
The post is full-time and permanent. The successful candidate must be able to take up his or her appointment from 1 September 2012. Salary will be in the range £37,819 to £43,353 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
