The Department of History at Columbia University welcomes applications for an Assistant Professor, tenure track, in the field of the French Revolution, to begin in 2012. Candidates should have research and teaching interests in the Enlightenment and Old Regime origins, outbreak, and/or development of the French Revolution, but applications are welcome from scholars concerned with broader contexts or with the aftermath of the events, including their continental, trans-Atlantic, and global repercussions.

 

Teaching responsibilities include courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, and in the Columbia Core Curriculum.

 

The Ph.D. must be completed by July 2012.
