Die Tagung „Face Work und Social Media“ stellt die Kommunikation in sozialen Onlineformaten in den Mittelpunkt. Es soll untersucht werden, ob und wie die Nutzer spezifische sprachliche Strategien für die phatische und im weiteren Sinne pragmatische Seite der Kommunikation entwickeln, ob besondere Zwänge der Formate einen anderen Umgang mit Face Work notwendig machen, ob neue Strategien von den Nutzern möglicherweise sogar reflektiert eingesetzt werden.
