University of Essex - Department of Language and Linguistics

The Department of Language and Linguistics at the University of Essex has a 40-year tradition of excellence in English Language, TEFL/TESOL/ELT, Linguistics and Modern Languages. We have an international reputation for our research in Theoretical and Descriptive Linguistics, Psycholinguistics, Sociolinguistics, Applied Linguistics and English Language Teaching.

 

We are now seeking to appoint a part-time Lecturer in French to contribute to all aspects of the provision of French within the Languages for All project. Duties will include the development of courses and modules in French Language, evening class teaching, the supervision of student work as well as some organizational and administrative duties within the Department.

 

The successful candidate will have a graduate qualification in a relevant area, competence in French equivalent to a native speaker and experience in language teaching in the UK Education sector. This post is part-time (18 hours per week) for a fixed term of 10 months, starting on or as soon as possible after the 1 September 2012.

 

Salary range: £27,578-£30,122 pa, pro-rata
