The Role:

The School of European Culture and Languages is seeking to appoint a Professor and Head of Department to provide research, strategic, and operational leadership for the development of Hispanic Studies. The new Professor will make an outstanding research contribution, further develop postgraduate provision and help guide the strategic development of the Department

 

The Person:

The successful candidate will have a PhD or equivalent in Hispanic Studies or related area with an inter-disciplinary focus on any area of Iberian or Latin American studies or a combination of both. A sustained record of international excellence in research and publication with a record of research leadership and a strong submission for the 2014 REF (3*- 4* level) are essential. The successful candidate will also have experience in the development of taught programmes of study at undergraduate and postgraduate level, with a strong commitment to personal excellence in teaching, and the ability to lead the Department, as demonstrated by previous leadership experience within an academic institution.
