The School of Languages has a national and international reputation for its innovative applied approach to language teaching and learning. We bring together staff with expertise in modern foreign languages, linguistics, translating and interpreting and English language teaching (ELT). We teach nine modern foreign languages, with programmes covering all levels, from beginners to Masters. We benefit from a state-of-the-art Language Resource Centre which supports teaching and learning.

Spanish is offered to undergraduate language students who have already obtained their A level in Spanish and to students who are taking this language at beginner level. We also offer Spanish on our University-Wide Language Programme to undergraduate and postgraduate research students studying other disciplines who wish to improve their language skills or learn a new language as part of their programme of study.

We now wish to appoint a Spanish Lector for the academic year 2011-12 to support module leaders in the implementation of the module specifications and programmes of study.
