Teaching Fellow in Medieval and Renaissance Studies

Part Time : 18.25 hours per week (50% FTE)

The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £35,557 - £38,594 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Italian Department, part of UCL's School of European Languages, Culture and Society, is the original home of Italian Studies in the UK. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching and examining in the area of medieval and Renaissance studies and at least one other area of Italian Studies at BA and MA level. The postholder will also be required to undertake administrative duties in the Department, to participate in extra-curricular seminars and other Departmental events and otherwise contribute to the intellectual life of the Department.

 

The post is funded for two years in the first instance and the successful candidate is expected to start in September 2011.

 

Key Requirements

Applications are invited from candidates who have a PhD in Renaissance Studies and a strong publication record in the area of medieval and Renaissance Studies. Experience of teaching at undergraduate and graduate level is essential, as is near-native competency in Italian and English.
