£23,661 - £26,629 pa pro rata
(Appointments are usually made on the first point of the salary range)
0.5 FTE (During University term time only)
The Department intends to employ a French Language Tutor to support the provision of its language teaching programme. In addition to delivering language teaching, you will be expected to collaborate with other teachers in the Department in the provision of such teaching, to keep up to date with developments in teaching methods and practice, to assist in developing materials and technological solutions which the Department may use, and to help key staff in the ongoing design and delivery of language studies. The post carries no responsibility to engage in research.
You will have appropriate experience of undergraduate teaching, and will be expected to teach students to the Department's high standards. You will have the ability and willingness to support curriculum development, and you will be expected to participate as appropriate in the administration of the Department's activities.
You will have a first degree in a relevant discipline, and ideally also have a higher qualification related to teaching, and will be able to demonstrate an excellent command of spoken and written French and English. Relevant experience of higher-level language teaching will be an advantage.
