The University of Bristol seeks to appoint a Lecturer in French from 1 September 2013.
The University’s Department of French is an integral part of a dynamic and forward-looking School of Modern Languages in the Faculty of Arts, with rich opportunities for interdisciplinary research and teaching. It consistently recruits large numbers of highly qualified and well-motivated undergraduates to its courses, which encompass literature (medieval, early modern, modern), cultural studies, intellectual history, politics and society, film and visual culture. The successful candidate will have completed a PhD, have established a strong reputation in research and publication, and is likely to have experience of teaching at university level, including French language. Applications will be considered from researchers in any area or period of French Studies, in fields that complement or supplement the Department’s current scope.
