Summary:
The School of Modern Languages and Linguistics wishes to recruit a Teaching Associate in French with effect from 19 September 2011.
The Department of French has an excellent reputation for the quality and innovation of its teaching and research. Staff in the department have a wide range of teaching and research interests ranging from medieval studies through to contemporary visual culture.
The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery, assessment and development of French language teaching at all undergraduate levels as well as to team-taught content modules where appropriate. Candidates should possess an excellent command of spoken and written French and have experience of teaching French as a foreign language in higher education. An awareness of current pedagogical debates and practices, a commitment to future curriculum development in language teaching and an ability to assist in innovation in approaches to learning and teaching are desirable. The successful applicant will have a degree in a relevant area and be committed to high quality teaching, including the teaching of French language.

Contract Type: This post is fixed-term with a start date of 19 September 2011 and an end date of 30 September 2015.
Working Pattern: This post is part-time: 60% working commitment, working pattern to be agreed.
